This is an exquisite balance of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Syrah and 15% Cinsault. Powerful on entry, with integrated oak, a sumptuous red and black fruit, in a mesh of fine coated tannins, demands the palate’s attention. It is an intriguing complex of savoury aromas. It will mature well over ten years, if you can bare to wait that long.

Silcrete is a lithological term for a strongly hardened rock composed mainly of inherited quartz grains. These rocky soils are ideal for growing Cinsault. Our fruit come from 28-year-old dryland bush vines, yielding a fragrant wine with intense fruit aromas and lacy tannins. Aged in large and old wooden barrels to add complexity and balance.

All the senses come to life with this finely curated Chardonnay. The nose is driven by fresh stone fruit and citrus. The zesty minerality and acidity is imparted by amphora clay vessels. A delicate oak embraces a playful aromatics.

Tristone refers to the three types of sandstone soils that our Cabernet Sauvignon vines are grown in. Each soil type brings a unique element to the wine. This wine showcases the terroir of these soils through its elegant balance between fruit, structure and lingering tannins.

Arenite refers to one of the major textural sandstone groups present on our farm. Our Syrah is happily rooted in these rocky soils as it is rooted in our history. Made from the same original Syrah clone as its acclaimed predecessor, this Stellenzicht stalwart exudes its origin with rich layers of dark berry fruit, spice and finely textured tannins.

The Rosé is blend of 71% Syrah, 16% Grenache and 13% Cinsault, gently crafted and aged in old barrels to protect the floral aromatics, juicy fruit and delicate yet fresh finish. Made to be enjoyed with friends.

The tale goes as follow… People believed that the stone age hand axes they found were the result of lightning striking the soil and shaping the rocks. The Dutch called them “Dondersteentjies”. Our red blend is our take on the traditional Helderberg blend that consisted of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. This fruit driven wine with delicate tannins is the perfect blend of history and finesse. Made to be enjoyed with friends.
