About Gabriëlskloof
Gabriëlskloof represents the realization of a dream for South African Bernhard Heyns, who had spent several years searching for the unique piece of land that, in his words, would "root him to the spot." In 2001, he discovered what was then a canola farm named 'Avontuur,' and the realization struck him. It soon became evident that the site possessed the potential to produce high-quality wines with a distinctive character, and that's precisely what it has done. Gabrielskloof has remained under the ownership and management of the Heyns family ever since. Over time, the Heyns family has expanded to include members of the local community, some of whom have climbed the ranks to hold senior positions at the farm.
